Acceptable Use Policy

Version 1.0.0 · Last updated: · Effective:

At a glance

Short version: use Wingmint to run your flying club. Don't use it to break the law, endanger flights, harm other members, or undermine the security controls that protect everybody on the platform. The detailed rules below apply.

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is incorporated by reference into the Club Services Agreement and the Member Terms of Service. A breach of this AUP is a breach of whichever of those documents applies to you.

1. Who this applies to

This AUP applies to:

  • Every flying club that subscribes to Wingmint (each a Club”), its officers, administrators, instructors, mechanics, and any other person acting on the Club's behalf; and
  • Every individual member who accesses the Service through a Club (each a “Member”).

Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Club Services Agreement or the Member Terms of Service. “You” means whoever is using the Service at a given moment — a Club or a Member, as applicable.

2. Aviation-specific rules

You will not use the Service to:

  • facilitate any flight that violates FAA regulations (including 14 CFR Part 91, Part 61, Part 135, or Part 141), any TFR, NOTAM, or Special Federal Aviation Regulation;
  • book or operate an aircraft that, based on information available to you, is not airworthy — including an aircraft with a known open squawk affecting safety of flight, an overdue annual, an expired ADS-B Out installation, a missing required inspection, or an unresolved airworthiness directive;
  • fly for compensation or hire without the certificate(s) required for that operation;
  • log PIC, dual given, instruction received, or any other aeronautical experience you did not actually obtain, or alter the Service's records of another pilot's flight time;
  • falsify Hobbs, tach, fuel, oil, or squawk entries, or edit flight records after the fact to misrepresent what happened;
  • disable, circumvent, or override the Service's enforcement of Club checkout requirements, currency requirements, standing orders, insurance gates, medical expiration gates, or flight review expiration gates;
  • use the Service to dispatch an aircraft into conditions that you are not currently rated, endorsed, and proficient to operate in; or
  • use the Service to represent to the FAA or any insurer that a flight occurred differently than it did.

Nothing in this Section 2 limits your obligations as pilot in command under 14 CFR § 91.3. The Service is not a substitute for those obligations.

3. TSA FTSP integrity

The Service enforces the TSA Flight Training Security Program (49 CFR Part 1552) in software. You will not:

  • upload a government-issued identification document, visa, passport, I-94, or alien registration document that is forged, altered, expired, or that does not belong to the Member whose account it is uploaded under;
  • misrepresent citizenship, country of birth, or alien status in a Member profile;
  • mark a Member as FTSP-approved when the TSA approval has not in fact been issued, or use a test/demo approval state on a real Member account;
  • conduct or receive flight training covered by 49 CFR Part 1552 before the Member's FTSP status is approved in the Service and by TSA;
  • assist another person in doing any of the above; or
  • use technical means (browser extensions, API calls, modified clients, or other automation) to circumvent the FTSP booking block.

Suspected violations may be reported to TSA, the FBI, and the Club's Club Admins without prior notice to the user.

5. Security and integrity

You will not:

  • probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related system without Wingmint's prior written permission (coordinated disclosure to security@wingmint.com is welcomed);
  • breach or circumvent authentication, session, or rate-limit controls;
  • interfere with any Member or Club's use of the Service, including by intentional degradation, denial of service, or mass automated requests;
  • access another user's account, data, or session without authorization;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service, except to the extent that this restriction is prohibited by applicable law; or
  • remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice on or in the Service.

6. Payments abuse

You will not:

  • initiate a chargeback or ACH dispute for a transaction that you in fact authorized, without first making a good-faith attempt to resolve the issue with your Club;
  • use the Service to process payments for any Club activity that is not the Club's legitimate flying-club business (for example, using Wingmint as a general-purpose payment processor for unrelated merchandise);
  • use stolen, synthetic, or otherwise unauthorized payment credentials;
  • structure payments to evade reporting obligations; or
  • misrepresent yourself as the Club's merchant of record to Stripe or to any card network.

Repeated chargebacks (as defined by the relevant card network or NACHA) may result in Stripe suspending payment processing for the Club and, at Wingmint's discretion, in the suspension or termination of the Member account that initiated them.

7. Privacy of others

You will not:

  • upload personal information about another person, other than as necessary to operate a Club in the ordinary course and only for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy;
  • export or scrape personal information about other members for any purpose other than the Club's internal administration; or
  • use Member contact information (emails, phone numbers, addresses) for unsolicited marketing unrelated to the Club.

8. API, scraping, and automation

Wingmint publishes a REST API and an MCP server, both documented on our website. You may use the documented interfaces under their published rate limits and with the authentication mechanisms we provide. You will not:

  • scrape the Service's web or mobile interfaces as a substitute for the documented API;
  • exceed published rate limits or use multiple API keys to evade them;
  • share API tokens or MCP credentials across organizations, or embed them in end-user applications in a way that exposes them; or
  • use automation to create member accounts, bookings, document uploads, or payments at a rate that would not plausibly be performed by a human administrator.

9. AI output

Some Service features use machine-learning models (including the AI squawk summarization Beta Feature and related tools). AI output is informational only. You will not:

  • represent AI output as a substitute for a mechanic's inspection, an instructor's endorsement, a weather briefing, or any other professional judgment;
  • include AI output verbatim in FAA filings, insurance claims, or Club maintenance logs without review and sign-off by a qualified person; or
  • attempt to extract training data, model weights, or proprietary prompts from the Service.

10. Physical access and keys

If your Club uses a Wingmint integration to grant physical access to aircraft keys (for example, Keycafe SmartBox), you will not:

  • retrieve keys for a reservation that is not yours, or on behalf of a Member whose reservation you do not have written authorization to retrieve for;
  • fail to return keys to the physical system at the end of the reservation; or
  • share smart-lock credentials, QR codes, or one-time PINs with any person not authorized by your Club.

An active Wingmint reservation is not, on its own, a Club checkout authorization or a statement of airworthiness. Your Club's rules govern who may fly which aircraft.

11. Enforcement

We may investigate any suspected violation of this AUP. We may, at our discretion and without prior notice:

  • remove, quarantine, or disable access to content that violates this AUP;
  • suspend or terminate the account of the user responsible;
  • suspend or terminate the Club's subscription if the violation is attributable to the Club;
  • disclose information to law enforcement, TSA, the FAA, an insurer, a card network, or another appropriate authority when we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with law, protect the safety of any person, or prevent fraud; and
  • pursue civil or criminal remedies available to us under applicable law.

Our choice not to act on a violation in one instance does not waive our right to act on it later.

12. Reporting violations

If you believe a user of the Service is violating this AUP, please report it to abuse@wingmint.com. If the report concerns an imminent aviation safety issue, also contact safety@wingmint.com and — if you reasonably believe a flight is being conducted unsafely or unlawfully right now — the appropriate authority (FAA, local ATC, or 911).

Security vulnerabilities should be reported to security@wingmint.com.

13. Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be announced at least thirty (30) days before they take effect, consistent with the modifications sections of the Club Services Agreement and the Member Terms of Service. Non-material changes (clarifications, typo fixes) take effect when posted.
